Maintaining Glass Skin After Seoul

You've had the treatments. Your skin looks incredible. You're at Incheon airport heading home. Now what? Here's how to protect your investment and extend your results.

The First Two Weeks

Follow your aftercare instructions exactly. Your dermatologist gave you specific guidelines — sunscreen application frequency, product restrictions, activity limitations. These aren't suggestions. The first 14 days after treatment are when your results are most vulnerable.

Keep your routine simple. Gentle cleanser, hydrating serum/essence, barrier cream, SPF 50. That's it. No actives (retinol, AHA, BHA, vitamin C at high concentrations) until your dermatologist's specified timeline.

Hydrate aggressively. Korean-style layered hydration works beautifully post-treatment. Toner → essence → serum → moisturizer. Your skin is in repair mode and needs moisture support.

Weeks 2–8: The Growth Phase

For treatments like Rejuran, Juvelook, and laser toning, the real results develop during this period as collagen synthesis ramps up. Continue your gentle routine and gradually reintroduce active products:

Long-Term Maintenance

Sunscreen is non-negotiable. UV exposure is the single biggest threat to your treatment results. Korean sunscreens (which you hopefully stocked up on) make this easy. SPF 50, PA++++, every single day, reapplied every 2–3 hours during sun exposure.

Adopt the Korean maintenance mindset. The treatments you got in Seoul work best as part of an ongoing protocol. Consider scheduling maintenance treatments every 6–12 months — either during a return Seoul trip or with a dermatologist at home who can continue the approach.

Keep using Korean skincare principles. The glass skin routine — double cleansing, layered hydration, barrier support, sun protection — isn't just for your Seoul trip. It's a sustainable daily practice that extends and amplifies your professional treatment results.

When to Return

Most treatment protocols benefit from follow-up sessions. Rejuran and skin boosters are typically recommended every 6–12 months. Laser treatments may need 3–5 sessions for optimal results. Many of my clients plan an annual Seoul skincare trip — combining treatment maintenance with a vacation.
